Shony Alex Braun survived four Nazi death camps because of music and the violin.

It’s a story that has been told through the music he wrote afterward, and now in a film documentary about his life, his legacy and how his daughter fulfilled his final wish.

The symphony is being performed as part of the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony’s 30th anniversary celebration on Sun., April 14. The film will be screened at the Holocaust Museum LA on April 18 with a soloist performance by the violinist who played the symphony at the gates of Auschwitz.
